Today, two of my favorite things in the world are coming together - the musical genius (in my humble opinion) of Bonnie Prince Billy and the twangy sounds of bluegrass - via Kentucky band, The Picket Line. This perfect union, Funtown Comedown, is being released on vinyl through Drag City records. I haven't heard it and don't know much about it - but I want it. Scratch that. Need it.
I'd admit, I hadn't heard of The Picket Line until today, but when their influences are listed as coal miners, farmers, [...] and things with strings... how can you not love them? Oh - and their music is pretty great too.
The album is available to download on Drag City's website. Personally, I'm opting for vinyl ;)
